Fuel Up to Play 60” Video Spotlights Cabell’s School Breakfast Program

Cabell County Schools is pleased to announce that a video produced by the NFL & American Dairy Association’s “Fuel Up to Play 60” initiative, featuring Village of Barboursville Elementary and the Cabell County Schools Breakfast program, has been released online. You can view the video on Fuel Up to Play 60’s YouTube channel at the following link: youtu.be/Hj22zCe51OQ

The video illustrates how the state of West Virginia has worked toward providing hungry children access to a healthy school breakfast using alternative breakfast models with help from parents, educators, community members and others.

The “Breakfast after First” program is featured, which has its roots in Cabell County and has now become a statewide initiative. “Breakfast after First” has increased Cabell County’s breakfast program participation significantly since it was introduced several years ago. As part of the program, breakfast is served in the classroom following the first period/segment of the day.
